Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to information about you when you read southoceanliving.com. South Ocean Living is published by South Ocean Exteriors LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the website and for this policy.

We try to collect as little as we can. Today, that means almost nothing.

The short version

• You can read the whole site without giving us your name or email address.
• We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and our own code sets no cookies at all.
• The newsletter has not launched, and the sign-up form does not send or store your address.
• Our web host, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site.
• We do not sell or share your personal information.
• If we add anything that collects more, such as a newsletter, analytics, advertising or affiliate links, we will update this page first.

What happens when you visit

Hosting and security. Our site is hosted on Cloudflare, Inc. ("Cloudflare"). When your browser requests a page, Cloudflare processes technical information about that request so that it can deliver the site and protect it against attacks and abuse. Cloudflare's own privacy policy says this information may include IP addresses, traffic routing data, system configuration information and other information about traffic to and from the websites it serves, and that it processes this data on behalf of the website owner. Cloudflare may also receive technical reports your browser sends about network errors. We do not use this information to identify you, and we do not combine it with anything else.

Fonts, images and scripts. Our typefaces, images and scripts are served from our own site. Reading a page does not send your information to font services, advertising networks or analytics companies.

Cookies. The code on our site does not set any cookies and does not store anything in your browser. When we checked the live site on October 19, 2026, no cookies were set. Cloudflare says it may set its own cookies to manage traffic and protect sites from malicious traffic, for example when it checks whether a visitor is a bot, and that these cookies are strictly necessary to provide its service (see Cloudflare's cookie information). Because we use no analytics, advertising or other optional cookies, we do not show a cookie banner. If that changes, we will ask for your consent where the law requires it, before any optional cookie is set.

Analytics. We do not currently use analytics. If we add an analytics tool, we will update this page first to name it and say whether it uses cookies.

The newsletter

The Clean Edit has not launched. The sign-up form on this site checks that an email address looks valid, in your browser, and then shows a message. It does not send or store your address anywhere. When the newsletter launches, we will update this page first to explain what we collect, which email service we use and how to unsubscribe.

Links to other sites

Our pages link to makers, retailers, hotels, publications, certifiers and regulators. None of these links is an affiliate link today. When you follow a link, you leave our site, and the other site's own privacy practices apply. If we add affiliate links, we will update this page first to name the networks involved and how they use cookies.

Who we share information with

We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. The only company that handles information about our visitors on our behalf is Cloudflare, as our web host, as described above. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Information we do not want

Please do not send us health information about yourself. We do not offer medical advice, and we do not need it.

Children

Our site is written for adults. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Today we hold none beyond the technical information Cloudflare processes to run the site. Depending on where you live, you may also have further rights under local law, such as the right to object to processing, to restrict it, or to complain to your data protection authority (in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office). We will not treat you differently for asking.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: the technical processing described under "Hosting and security" rests on our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Cloudflare says that when it transfers personal data from those places to the United States, it relies on its certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and otherwise on standard contractual clauses.

We are setting up a contact address for South Ocean Living; it will be added to this page, and you can use it to make any of these requests.

Security

We keep the information we handle to a minimum and use a reputable host. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date. We will update it before we add a newsletter, analytics, advertising, affiliate links, embedded content from other services, or anything else that collects information.
