Welcome to South Ocean Living. These terms apply to your use of our website at southoceanliving.com and, once it launches, our newsletter (together, the "Site"). South Ocean Living is published by South Ocean Exteriors LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we", "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information, not advice

Everything on the Site is for general information and inspiration. It is not medical, health, nutritional, legal, financial, safety or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for it.

• Not medical advice. We are not doctors. Nothing on the Site is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition. Always talk to your doctor or another qualified professional before starting a product, supplement, skincare routine, treatment or wellness practice, especially if you are pregnant or nursing, have a medical condition or take medication. Never ignore professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read here. If you think you have a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
• Products and claims. When we describe a product, certification or study, we report what its maker, certifier or source has published, and we attribute it. We are curators, not a laboratory: we do not test products ourselves, and we do not guarantee that any product is safe or suitable for you. Read the label and the maker's instructions, check ingredients for anything you react to, and follow safety warnings. Certifications we mention were checked on the date shown and can lapse; products can be reformulated.
• Home and safety topics. Articles about mold, cleaning, air, water and similar subjects are general guidance. For anything beyond routine care, or anything affecting health or safety, use a licensed professional and follow official guidance.
• Travel. Opening hours, rules, prices, entry requirements and conditions at hotels, spas and destinations change. Check with the provider and official sources before you travel or book.

2. Prices, availability and accuracy

Prices, availability, promotions and product details change often and may differ by retailer and country. Any price or detail we show was accurate to the best of our knowledge on the date shown; the seller's website at the time of purchase is the final word. We work hard to be accurate and correct mistakes promptly (see our Clean Standard on corrections), but we do not warrant that the Site is complete, current or error-free.

3. Links to other sites, and purchases

The Site links to websites, shops, hotels and services run by other people. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products, services, prices, privacy practices or availability. When you buy or book through a link on the Site, your contract is with that seller, and its terms, returns and warranties apply. Today, no link on the Site is an affiliate link; if that changes, we will say so on the page and on How We Make Money.

4. Our content and how you may use it

The Site's text, illustrations, design and logos belong to us or to those who license them to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws. "South Ocean Living," "The Clean Standard," "The Clean Score" and "The Clean Edit" are names we use for our publication and features. Any photographs supplied by brands, hotels, photographers or publications belong to them and appear only with their permission and a credit.

You may read, print or save pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, and share links to them. You may quote a short excerpt with a credit and a link to the original page. You may not otherwise copy, republish, sell, frame or create derivative works from our content, remove copyright or credit notices, or use our content or names in a way that suggests we endorse you or your products, without our written permission.

You may not scrape or bulk-download the Site, or use its content to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, without our written permission.

5. Things you must not do

You agree not to use the Site to break the law; to interfere with, overload or attack the Site or its security; to access it by automated means except search-engine indexing that follows our robots.txt; to impersonate anyone; or to send us anything unlawful, harmful or infringing.

6. What you send us

If you send us a comment, tip, photo, correction or other material, you confirm that you have the right to send it. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you allow us to use, edit and publish it, with credit where appropriate, in connection with the Site, without payment. We will never publish your words as a review or testimonial, or use your name or image, without your permission. We are not obliged to use or return anything you send.

7. Newsletter

Our newsletter has not launched, and the sign-up form on the Site does not send or store your address. When the newsletter launches, we will update these terms and our Privacy Policy first.

8. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on the Site infringes your copyright, please send us a notice with: your contact details; the work you say is infringed; the page and material you want removed; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We will review it promptly and remove material where appropriate. We are setting up a contact address for South Ocean Living; it will be added to this page.

9. Disclaimer

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR FREE OF ERRORS OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT MAKE ANY WARRANTY ABOUT PRODUCTS OR SERVICES SOLD BY OTHERS.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE, AND OUR OWNERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES AND CONTRIBUTORS, WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT, OR FROM ANY PRODUCT, SERVICE, HOTEL OR EXPERIENCE YOU BUY OR BOOK FROM A THIRD PARTY, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived, including under the laws of the country where you live.

11. Indemnity

If you use the Site in breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from any resulting claim against us.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring proceedings in your local courts.

13. Changes, and the rest

We may change the Site or these terms at any time. The version posted here, with its "Last updated" date, applies from the time it is posted; if a change is significant, we will say so on the Site. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term right away, we have not waived it. These terms, our Privacy Policy and our How We Make Money page are the whole agreement between us about the Site.
