We choose from published evidence: what hotels and restaurants publish about themselves, guidebooks such as Forbes Travel Guide and the MICHELIN Guide, and public sources for parks and beaches. We have not stayed at these hotels, eaten at these restaurants or visited these places for this piece, so nothing here is a first-hand account. No hotel hosted us or gave us a media rate, and this piece contains no affiliate links. Hours, seasons and prices change, so check with each place before you go.

Palm Beach is a barrier island, with the Atlantic on one side and the Lake Worth Lagoon on the other. Most visitors know it for Worth Avenue and the grand hotels. This weekend is built around the other things the island offers: a paved path along the lagoon, gardens that cost nothing to enter, lifeguarded public beaches, and kitchens that say where their food comes from.
"Clean luxury," for this guide, means places that publish specifics: what is in the spa products, where the food comes from, what has replaced the plastic. Where a hotel or restaurant makes a claim, we name it as theirs. We have not yet given any of these hotels a Clean Score. That needs written answers from each hotel, which we have not yet received.
Where to stay
Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach
2800 South Ocean Boulevard, oceanfront south of Worth Avenue 2.
Of the three hotels here, this is the one that publishes the most detailed account of how it runs. On its sustainability page, the hotel says it has removed or replaced single-use plastics, "including water bottles, bathroom amenities and takeaway food packaging" 1. It keeps an on-site garden that supplies herbs to the kitchens and lists seasonal menu items made with ingredients from local suppliers 1. The resort also says it holds 4 Keys from Green Key Global, ENERGY STAR certification and a Three Palm designation from Florida's Green Lodging Program 1. The ENERGY STAR certification, which covers a building's energy performance, appears on the U.S. EPA's registry of certified buildings, which lists the resort as certified in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2026 32. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's list of active Green Lodging properties shows the resort at the Three Palm level, last renewed in January 2024 38. We could not check Green Key Global's own directory, so the 4 Keys is the resort's statement as of October 19, 2026.
The property is a four-story building with 207 rooms, 14 of them suites 2. Forbes Travel Guide rates it Five-Star and notes its beach yoga and complimentary bicycles 5. The spa has 10 treatment rooms. Spa guests can use a eucalyptus steam room and a saltwater whirlpool, and the spa is open daily from 9:30 am to 7 pm 3. The resort's fact sheet lists 111SKIN, Biologique Recherche, Voya and Davines among the spa's product lines 2, and the spa shop, the hotel says, stocks products from Florida-based makers 1.

The Breakers Palm Beach
1 South County Road, oceanfront north of Worth Avenue 12.
The grand hotel of the island, founded in 1896 by Henry Flagler and still family-owned and independent, with 534 rooms and suites on 140 acres 10. Its sustainability statement is short and general, covering energy efficiency, water stewardship and waste reduction 7. One detail stands out: the hotel's racquet fact sheet credits its four hydroponic grass tennis courts with "water savings of up to 85%" 11. It does not say what that is measured against.
The spa is the reason to look closely. The Breakers says it offers Tata Harper facial and body treatments and describes itself as the brand's exclusive resort partner in South Florida 10. The release states that the formulas use "100% naturally derived ingredients" from the brand's organic farm in Vermont and other suppliers 10. That is Tata Harper's description of its own products, not a certification we have checked. The spa shop also stocks OSEA, Tammy Fender, Shankara, Eminence and Guerlain 9, and the spa says its nail care uses "organic skincare by OSEA" 8; "organic" is the hotel's word, and we have not checked a certification. The 20,000-square-foot spa has 17 treatment rooms 9. It is open daily from 9:30 am to 6 pm for hotel guests and club members, local clients are welcome as availability allows, and the hotel warns that weekend availability is limited 8. Forbes Travel Guide calls the spa "top-notch" and rates the hotel Four-Star 12.

Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences
3100 North Ocean Drive, Riviera Beach, on Singer Island north of Palm Beach 13.
The only resort here built around wellness. Forbes Travel Guide's preview describes a spa and wellness building of about 100,000 square feet with what it calls Florida's only indoor-outdoor hydrothermal experience, a demonstration kitchen, a plant-based restaurant, bars that serve mocktails as well as cocktails, a rooftop pool, and 155 rooms that all look out over water 13. The resort also describes a day pass that gives access to its hydrothermal circuit, private beach and fitness center without an overnight stay 14. Amrit's own spa pages do not name the skincare lines it uses 39, so ask the spa if that matters to you.

Friday evening: arrive and slow down
Golden hour at Florie's Bar. At the Four Seasons, the bar's cocktails change with the seasons and use Florida citrus and herbs from the resort's own garden, and the hotel describes its wine-by-the-glass list as "100% sustainable" 4, without naming a standard. Forbes Travel Guide says the list focuses on winemakers committed to sustainable production 6. Hours: the resort lists Florie's Bar from 4 to 11 pm Sunday to Thursday and 4 pm to midnight on Friday and Saturday, with a Golden Hour daily from 4 to 6 pm 435.
Dinner, two ways.
- Stay in at Florie's. This is Mauro Colagreco's only restaurant in the US, built around live-fire cooking and a stone hearth oven 46. Forbes Travel Guide rates it Four-Star and says the menu "lean[s] heavily on local fish and citrus" 6. Ask for the oceanfront terrace, as Forbes suggests; the dress code is smart casual 6. Hours: the resort lists dinner from 5:30 to 9 pm Sunday to Thursday and 5:30 to 9:30 pm on Friday and Saturday 35. Price: prices vary; check with the hotel.
- Head into town to būccan. At 350 South County Road, a short walk from Worth Avenue, Clay Conley's contemporary American restaurant is in the MICHELIN Guide. Michelin says that while some dishes are fixtures, "most rotate with the seasons" 15. Hours: Michelin lists dinner daily from 5 to 10 pm. Price: $$$ on Michelin's price scale 15.
Saturday: lagoon, market, gardens
Early: the Lake Trail. A paved path runs along the lagoon side of the island for about five miles, by 100 Florida Trails' count 21; other guides give figures from about 4.3 to 5.5 miles 20. 100 Florida Trails says motorized and electric vehicles are not allowed, the speed limit is 10 mph and the path is mostly unshaded, so go early 21. Near the Society of the Four Arts, by Royal Palm Way, the trail makes a short detour 21. The Four Seasons lends bicycles to guests 25, but take a pedal bike, not an e-bike, on this path.
Mid-morning: the West Palm Beach GreenMarket. Across the lagoon on the downtown waterfront, the City of West Palm Beach says the Saturday market's 32nd season opened October 3, and it lists market hours of 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at 100 North Clematis Street 34. According to Discover The Palm Beaches, the market is on the Great Lawn and the season runs every Saturday through May 22, 2027, except February 6 and March 20 19. Which stalls are organic or local varies by vendor, so ask at each one.
Lunch: back on the island. Florie's Terrace serves breakfast and lunch on a seasonal menu, and Seaway serves seafood under the resort's sea grape trees at the edge of the beach 4. The resort says Seaway's menu is built on ingredients native to South Florida 2. Hours: the resort lists Seaway lunch from 11 am to 4 pm, Monday to Saturday 36. The Florie's Terrace page gives breakfast daily from 7:30 to 11 am but no lunch hours, so check with the hotel 37.
Afternoon: two free gardens.
- The Society of the Four Arts gardens, on Four Arts Plaza at Royal Palm Way and Cocoanut Row: the Four Arts says they are open daily from 11 am to 4 pm, weather permitting, with no admission charge 22. They include the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden, which the Four Arts says is undergoing improvements, so take care when you visit 22. Bicycles are not allowed inside 22.
- Pan's Garden, at 386 Hibiscus Avenue, is the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach's garden of Florida native plants. The Foundation lists it as open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, with occasional closures 23, and local press coverage describes it as free to enter.
Late afternoon: Worth Avenue and the vias. According to The Cultural Landscape Foundation, Worth Avenue was named in 1913. The Everglades Club at its west end, designed by Addison Mizner and Paris Singer, dates to 1918. In 1924 Mizner designed a three-story building with shops on the ground floor and homes and offices above, and through the 1940s the avenue filled in with arcaded shops and courtyards linked by pedestrian vias 28. Go for the architecture. We have not researched individual shops for this guide, so there are no shop picks here.
Optional: the spa. If you would rather spend the afternoon indoors, this is the time for the Tata Harper treatments at The Breakers 10 or the steam room and saltwater whirlpool at the Four Seasons spa 3. Book ahead: The Breakers says weekend availability is limited 8. Steam rooms, whirlpools and hydrothermal circuits are hot; if you are pregnant or have a health condition, ask your doctor and the spa before you book.
Dinner: Emelina. In West Palm Beach, Emelina has a handful of counter seats facing an open kitchen, and Michelin says most of its ingredients are sourced from South Florida, down to beef from a local rancher 16. It holds one MICHELIN Star 16, and it is the only starred restaurant in Palm Beach County in Michelin's current Florida selection 1831. With so few seats, book well ahead. Hours: Michelin lists Wednesday to Saturday, 5 to 10 pm, and its listing carries an online booking link. Price: $$$ on Michelin's price scale 16.
Sunday: swim, brunch, home
Morning swim. The Town of Palm Beach has two public beaches, Midtown Beach and Phipps Ocean Park, and says its lifeguards are on duty seven days a week, all year 24. The Town updates a beach report line, (561) 835-4693, each morning; call it before you go for the day's beach conditions 24, and ask the Town or your hotel when the lifeguards are on the stands. Swim only while lifeguards are on duty, near a lifeguard stand, and follow the warning flags.
Or snorkel near Singer Island. If you are staying at Amrit, Phil Foster Park at 900 East Blue Heron Boulevard in Riviera Beach has a county-built snorkel trail under the Blue Heron Bridge 2627. The county says the park is open from sunrise to sunset 26. Guides advise going around high tide, because the current can run strong between tides 27. Check the tide table and swim only if you are confident in the water. Snorkel with a companion, and look but do not touch or stand on the reef or the sea life. Florida law counts snorkelers as divers and, outside areas customarily used for swimming only, requires a divers-down flag or buoy where you dive 33; check the park's current rules before you go.
Or a slow morning at Amrit. The resort says its day pass covers the hydrothermal circuit, private beach and fitness center 14. The resort says day-pass prices vary by day, season and availability, dining is not included, and booking ahead is recommended because availability is limited 14; see its booking page for the current rate.
Brunch. The resort's dining page currently lists Sunday brunch at Seaway, from 11 am to 4 pm, with a menu it says is inspired by locally sourced ingredients 4. Forbes Travel Guide describes a Sunday brunch at Florie's 6, so ask the hotel which is running when you book.
On the way in, not out. aioli at 7434 South Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach is a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand bakery and café, with house-made sourdough and baked goods, an open kitchen and a menu that is updated regularly 17. Michelin lists it as closed on Sundays and open 7 am to 4 pm Monday to Saturday, and puts it at $$ on its price scale 17, so stop on a Friday arrival or a Saturday morning rather than on the Sunday drive home.
Before you go
- Hurricane season in the Atlantic runs from June 1 to November 30 29. For a fall weekend, watch the forecast and read each hotel's cancellation terms when you book.
- Sea turtle nesting season here runs from March 1 to October 31 30. Keep lights off the beach at night, fill in any holes you dig, and take chairs home at the end of the day 30. Do not touch or disturb turtles, hatchlings or marked nests; report a turtle in trouble to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Wildlife Alert line, 888-404-3922 25.
- The GreenMarket runs on Saturdays from October to May, with two Saturdays off 1934.
- Spas fill up on weekends; book treatments when you book the room 8.
- If you have allergies or sensitivities, contact the hotel or restaurant directly before you book, and talk to your doctor if you have questions about your health.
The short version
- Stay: the Four Seasons for the most detailed published sustainability statement of the three 1, The Breakers for its Tata Harper spa treatments 910, or Amrit for a wellness-focused resort 13.
- Eat: Florie's for garden-driven cocktails and local fish 46, būccan for seasonal plates 15, Emelina for South Florida ingredients in a Michelin-starred kitchen 16, and aioli for bread on the way in (closed Sundays) 17.
- Move: the Lake Trail, two free gardens and the Worth Avenue vias 20222328.
- Swim: the Town's lifeguarded beaches, or the Phil Foster snorkel trail at high tide 242627.
- Every claim about a hotel or restaurant is that place's own, a named guidebook's or a named public registry's. We have not stayed, dined or swum at any of them for this piece.
